Me covered in mess...
My Life in Stitches is a deeply personal exploration of resilience and change, told through the medium of art. In this exhibition, I share the story of a challenging chapter in my life—one that includes my teen child's struggle with depression since COVID, our family’s move from London to Whaley Bridge in the Peak District, and the process of rebuilding relationships and reconnecting with myself along the way.
The title My Life in Stitches reflects both the emotional and physical aspects of healing. Through embroidery, leather art, fabric painting, video art and photography, I explore the process of mending and the beauty that comes from overcoming difficulties. Each piece tells a story of emotional scars, showing how art can be a tool for healing.
For me, My Life in Stitches is more than just an exhibition; it’s a story of survival and growth. Through my work, I invite you to connect with my journey and, perhaps, see reflections of your own experiences. It’s a shared story of hope, healing, and renewal.
Please watch my interview here to learn more about the exhibition and the journey behind it.
